The Community Bank of the Chesapeake is a bank that supports, serves, and loves their community. They are evolving into a new generation of customer service and employee wellness and needed their interior to reflect that growth. The concept consist of a dynamic Central Commons centered around an interactive teller machine for self-assisted transactions. All other amenities and services should be connected from the Commons. To provide seamless customer service, traditional teller counters were replaced with minimized “pods” and strategic touch down perches. The creation of a hospitality island allowed for a shared amenity between employees and customers.
A new material palette was created by blending CBTC’s corporate identity with the textures and colors of the Chesapeake Bay. The installed details are guided by the angle of the sail that is present in the logo and is a hallmark of the Chesapeake region. The resulting interior invokes a feeling of nostalgia for the coast when one enters the building, but this is contrasted with streamlined modernity so that customers know they’re somewhere that will evolve with them to meet their needs.
