Project Description

As part of the Innsbrook Technical Center Renovation, in Phase 2 the design team created a 70,000 SF Lab Addition to the existing building. This addition is two floors and contains labs, collaboration and conference rooms, office space, and specialty storage.

The overall design aesthetic is modern and bright, utilizing clean lines and optimizing natural light. The new building entrance draws in visitors while giving them a glimpse into feature spaces like the Lobby and Welcome Center. To tie the Lab Addition to the larger campus, the Lobby is anchored by a multi-story backlit Feature Wall and Ceiling that pulls visitors in as it runs across and folds down the space, providing a backdrop for the main stair. Pulling inspiration from a nighttime aerial cityscape, the perforated metal pattern references the user group’s energized focus. Wayfinding elements from the Main Building are echoed, with colored back-painted glass in the elevator lobby signifying the floor.
