Designer Spotlight: Heather Smart

KSA welcomes our newest team member, Heather Smart to our studio. A recent graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University (BFA 2018) and a Middle of Broad (mOb) Studio alumna, she is no stranger to the local Richmond Design and Arts Community. She has been a wonderful addition to our close-knit, talented team of professionals. We love her empathy, curiosity, and adaptability in everything she does!

Most memorable design school project?
First real world client in school was an ice cream shop trying to move out of their truck and into a brick and mortar in Church Hill. After working at an ice cream shop for 6 years, it was an amazing opportunity to lend my knowledge on ice cream and design to a real business!
If you could learn a new craft, what would it be?
I’ve killed a lot of house plants but I would love to try my hand at gardening!

If you could design anything, what would it be?
Would be a dream come true to design a playground or park
