Who is a designer that inspires you?

Alan Ricks and Michael Murphy of Mass Design Group.  They are Architects who are designing to make a difference in the world— helping in a way that’s relevant and now.  That’s a big deal.

If you could learn one new craft, what would it be?

Guitar.  I started a while back, then life got in the way…which is no excuse.  I’ll have to pick it up again one day (see what I did there?!)

If you could design anything, what would it be?

I’ve always been fascinated with branding design – whether it’s a rebrand or from the birth of a company.  I would love to design brand identities and help companies truly figure out why they do what they do.  It’s the “Ah-Ha” moments you love to watch people have!

Most memorable design school moment?

I went to Radford University and we would frequently pull all-nighters.  One night in particular, we all stopped what we were working on (it must have been 3am) and we learned the stanky leg dance together, watching intently while it played on the projector screen.  We were delirious and it was SO much fun!
