If you could learn a new skill, what would it be?
It’s not necessarily a new skill, but I would like to get better at playing classical guitar. When I was younger, I really enjoyed playing, and it’s something I would like to reunite with.
What’s the most remarkable job you’ve had?
Believe it or not, I used to be a video game digital artist for Random Games. I worked on games like Barbie Princess Bride and a web based game for the Backstreet boys.
Who is a designer that inspires you?
Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki, who did “Howl’s Moving Castle” inspires me to no end. His attention to the human condition and the human spirit that comes through in his animation really engages me. He brings out how beautiful the small things in life can be, and his animation shows mastery of the fantastical.
If you could design anything, what would it be?
I love plush. Years ago I had a startup called Soft Serv Creations. We designed a line of alphabet letters that we’re brought to life with personalities and we had them manufactured in plush. I would like to revisit my plush design and expand the product line we developed.
