If you could learn a new craft, what would it be?
I’d like to learn the Cello again. I played it in 4th grade, but then switched to the saxophone in 5th.
If you could design anything, what would it be?
I’m fascinated with the psychology of learning spaces, so I would want to be a design consultant for teachers and work alongside schools to improve learning spaces for students.
Who is a designer that inspires you?
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. I’ve always appreciated how light and open his designs are. His minimal approach to design and his use of glass to bring the outside in have resonated with me as I’ve journeyed through becoming an Interior Designer.
Most memorable design school moment?
Each of us in our class had to build a working light fixture. The whole process was memorable, but not in a good way. From the day we learned how to put light fixtures together to the day mine wouldn’t light up at the critique… it was fun. Let’s just say I’m not planning on designing light fixtures anytime soon.
